Lothi-g̈ekè Bî (/ˈloθi/ /ˈg̃ekè/ [festival] [appearance (act of appearing)]) is a temperate Town located in the Tëomjinèna Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Lothi-g̈ekè Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Lothi-g̈ekè Bî was founded by Snog̈i Êrî, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a yearly average temperature of 26°C (78°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Lothi-g̈ekè Bî receives an average of 259 cm/y (101 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Lothi-g̈ekè Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3070 m (10072 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî was founded durring the early 12th century in spring of the year 1142, by Snog̈i Êrî. The establishment of Lothi-g̈ekè Bî suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Lothi-g̈ekè Bî which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lothi-g̈ekè Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of restrictive baked earthen streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Lothi-g̈ekè Bî weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The town's budget focused millitary grade defenses have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Lothi-g̈ekè Bî ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Even with that as it is, everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or much of both. The town should be gone, not dying. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Civic Infrastructure

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Lothi-g̈ekè Bî. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Lothi-g̈ekè Bî's parks.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Lothi-g̈ekè Bî.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Lothi-g̈ekè Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Lothi-g̈ekè Bî's grid is powered by mana accumulators.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Lothi-g̈ekè Bî's natural decorations nor waterways.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

While Lothi-g̈ekè Bî might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is short in Lothi-g̈ekè Bî.

The Mud Elemental, Small near Lothi-g̈ekè Bî are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Lothi-g̈ekè Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves bloodletting to channel Abjuration energies of tier 3 via mimery.
